Carole King doing the immortal “So Far Away” in 1971. She was 29 and had been writing songs professionally for 12 years.

I don’t have this collection but this photo is in a book I just started called Girls Like Us. This is Carole King and Gerry Goffin, taken in 1959. She was 17 years old and pregnant and they would marry a little later. They were already working together as a pro songwriting team and within a year they would write “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”. Seems like a tough row to hoe for a woman in 1959 and her level of accomplishment at this age is astounding.
