Prefuse 73, “Nuno”, from 2001’s Vocal Studies & Uprock Narratives. I’m sure it says something about me that when this came out I recognized that “Nuno” was a reference to Nuno Canavarro, who is sampled late in this song, but I didn’t know the the main sampled voice was Nas. I wrote a piece about Nuno Canavarro’s great Plux Quba for Sound Collector Audio review in 2002 and I also wrote a column that talked about this P73 record in 2001 and I called it “Fuck Words of Wisdom”.
