do you think it's really hard to make a living in the music business?

“music business” in the broadest sense, no, I don’t think it’s all that hard. But doing something you like and being happy while limiting your career option to the “music business” I do think is pretty hard! There are a lot of people working in music in one way or another that don’t seem like they are enjoying themselves very much, in part because it’s hard to do quality work that you are proud of while also making a decent salary. Some of the happiest and most fulfilled music writers I know do it part-time.
